Generally, the parents favor the end of the school, the beginning of the high school or the end of the high school. An academic year in France benefit to their children in their high school life; indeed at this stage, young people have achieved a certain autonomy and a sufficient level of language to apprehend this experience. It is the age when one can integrate a foreign language to the point of making it his second language; and adaptation in a new environment is still quite easy.

Usually, SILC welcome students between 14 and 18 years old, but every profile can be studied.

Which profile?

  • Student who need to break with their daily lives, who are experiencing difficult personal experiences or who have conflicting relationships with those around them. Schooling abroad is a way for them to escape to live something else. Some may also be destabilized by the educational system of their country that is not convenient for them. They will find in another school system, a totally different, more rewarding educational approach that will correspond to them more.
